Simply put, I’m Michael and I’m a tax accountant.
The EA at the end of my name stands for Enrolled Agent which means I’m a federally licensed tax practitioner that’s enrolled to practice before the IRS. To maintain my Enrolled Agent status, I follow stricter ethics requirements than unenrolled tax preparers and need to complete at least 16 hours of continuing education on taxes every year.
I’m not your parents’ curmudgeonly accountant and I’m not here to make life difficult. I’m here to make a trip to the accountant a pleasant experience and to guide you through the intricacies of the tax code. I promise to keep things simple, give straightforward answers, and finish your tax return in record time. I’ll even send you a card for your birthday.
I have one goal:
Helping Long Islanders and small businesses tackle taxes, accounting, and payroll (and saving clients lots of money, but that didn’t fit in the snappy tagline).
My Volunteer Work
Outside of the office, I’m the Treasurer for the Huntington Village Business Improvement District. We advocate for local businesses, organize many of the decorations around town (check out the murals on the power boxes!), supply most of the candy for the downtown-wide children’s Halloween trick-or-treating, and try to attract more Long Islanders to visit our wonderful town.
I’m also a member of the Huntington Lion’s Club. As we like to describe it: “We raise money and give it away. That’s it.” The Lion’s Club donates to many local Huntington-area charities and food banks.
